We lay new tarmac driveways in Uxbridge, resurface tired drives and carry out tarmac driveway repair work, with the sub-base, falls and edging done properly so the surface lasts.
Uxbridge stretches from the old market town around the High Street and Windsor Street out to Hillingdon Village, Cowley and Ickenham, with Brunel University and the River Colne on its edges. Our team installs tarmac driveways in Uxbridge across UB8 and UB10, covering everything from period cottages to 1930s semis and newer family homes. We handle new asphalt drives, resurfacing and tarmac driveway repair, with neat borders and drainage planned for each plot.
Ground in Uxbridge ranges from river gravels in the Colne valley to London clay towards Hillingdon and Ickenham, so we check conditions before setting excavation depth. Each drive gets a compacted Type 1 sub-base, hot-laid asphalt and block-paved or kerb edging. We are fully insured, every job is guaranteed, and we are FMB, TrustMark and Guild of Master Craftsmen members.
Most of our driveway work comes from recommendations. Here is what customers say about us.

Contrasting block or kerb borders that hold the edges and give a tarmac drive a smart, finished look.
Red or green tarmac for drives, paths and private roads where you want something different from black.
Channel drains, soakaways and porous asphalt to keep water off the road and within the planning rules.
Is your drive worth resurfacing or rebuilding?

Call 01895 875062Uxbridge driveway costs depend on the size of the area, what needs removing, from lawn to old concrete, and how deep we dig on the local gravel or clay. Larger multi-car layouts, porous asphalt, channel drains near the Colne, block-paved borders and coloured tarmac all shape the specification. Access on busy town centre roads can also play a part. Small defects in tarmac grow quickly once water gets in. These are the signs it is time to call us.
Hairline cracks let water into the base, where frost widens them every winter.
Loose, missing patches that will keep growing and can damage tyres and trip visitors.
Low areas and ruts point to a weak or washed-out sub-base under the surface.
Puddles that sit for hours mean the falls or drainage need correcting.
Growth along edges and cracks shows the surface is opening up and losing its seal.
Oxidised, crumbly tarmac that sheds grit is near the end of its life and may need resurfacing.

Book a free surveyUxbridge Old Town and Hillingdon Village are conservation areas, as is Ickenham Village nearby, so frontage designs there need to respect their character and Hillingdon Council's guidance. Homes on the western side of town, close to the River Colne and the Frays River, can sit in areas at risk of flooding, which affects drainage design and levels. London clay to the east drains slowly, making porous asphalt or channel drains worthwhile. Front gardens over 5 m² need a permeable surface or drainage to a soft area. Hillingdon Council approves dropped kerbs, checking visibility, street trees and parking. Shared houses near Brunel University often need durable, low-maintenance drives for several cars.
We also cover these nearby areas with the same team and the same guarantees.
From survey to the final roll, this is how we build a tarmac drive that lasts.
We check the existing surface, levels, drainage and access, and talk through borders and layout.
An itemised quote with dig-out, sub-base, tarmac courses, edging and a start date.
The old surface comes out, and kerbs or block borders are set to the finished levels.
Crushed stone sub-base is laid and compacted, with channel drains or soakaways where needed.
Hot tarmac is laid in two courses and rolled while hot for a dense, smooth finish.
Edges are sealed, the site is cleared, and we tell you when you can drive on it.

Straight answers to the questions Uxbridge customers ask us most. If yours is not here, call us.
Standard tarmac is impermeable, so a new front driveway over 5 square metres needs planning permission unless rainwater drains to a lawn, border or soakaway on your property, or you use porous asphalt. We design drainage to keep you within the rules.
Yes. Many larger homes and shared rentals near Brunel University and Hillingdon need parking for several cars. We design layouts that fit within the boundary, use hard-wearing hot-rolled asphalt and add block-paved borders so the edges stay intact. Front gardens over 5 m² still need permeable construction or drainage to a soft area, and any wider crossover needs Hillingdon Council's approval, which we can help you plan.
If the existing surface is sound and well supported, an overlay is a cost-effective option. If it is sinking, cracked through or badly drained, we recommend a full dig-out and a new sub-base.
A well-built tarmac drive on a proper sub-base should last many years. Keeping edges sealed and repairing cracks early makes a big difference.
You can usually walk on it the same day and drive on it after a day or so. Avoid sharp turns on the spot and parking in the same position for the first few weeks.
Tarmac is usually quicker to lay and better value per square metre, with a smooth, seamless finish. Block paving costs more but offers more patterns and colours. Many customers combine the two with a tarmac drive and block-paved borders.
Yes. We cut out failed areas, prepare the base and reinstate with fresh tarmac, sealing the joints so water cannot get back in.
